How to connect GuitarFreaks / DrumMania (GITADORA!) controller for PlayStation

How to connect GuitarFreaks / DrumMania (GITADORA!) controller for PlayStation?

To connect PlayStaion GITADORA! controller to DTXMania, you can use the converter (PlayStaition to USB)... you can purchase it as a commercial products.

Before purchase the converter, you should check the reputation about it, because some adapter has a big lag to convert the signal.

BTW, initial DTXMania does NOT have any pad assigns for GITADORA! controller. So, you have to configure the key/pad assign to use it. You can configure it at CONFIGURATION - (Drums / Guitar / Bass) - Input Option - Key Assign. See also Pad/keyboard assign.

GITADORA! controller's input seems dull/laggy. How to improve it?

Essentially it is because "Converter's performance is not good". (so you can't improve it)......but I introduce you some tips which MAY be able to improve the performance.

  • Go "CONFIGURATION - System - Display Option", and set VSyncWait OFF. You may feel better than VSyncWait=ON.
  • Go "CONFIGURATION - System - Input Option", and set BufferedInput OFF. Current DTXMania app seems be able to get DirectInput input at 15.6 milliseconds intervals when BufferedInput=ON. Under investigation to improve the resolution of input.
  • Stable USB power supply may improve the input feel. For example,
    • Disconnect other USB devices.
    • Use self-powered USB hub (which uses AC-adapter), if you use bus-powered hub (which does not AC adapter)
    • Directly connect to on-mother USB port, if you connect the USB port under USB hub.
    • If you already connected to on-mother USB port, change to other on-mother USB port.
  • Basically "1 USB port - 2 PlayStation connector" type of converter tend not to have enough performance than "1 USB port - 1 PlayStation connector" type.
If you use "1 USB port - 2 PlayStation connector" type, please connect two PlayStation controller into single converter (ex. GITADORA! controller and dummy PlayStation standard controller, etc). It may improve the performance.
  • In case some special button is laggy, please check whether the button is "AXIS" or not.(AXIS buttons are assigned to DTXMania as Left, Right, Up or Down". AXIS is a little dull than pure buttons.
