Nall is a small status icon application that
discreetly fits into the system tray. Its purpose
is to spawn a list of user scripts periodically
and display one line of output per script in a
tooltip window. Thus, it is possible to "monitor"
any kind of event that can be detected with a
script. Nall does not care about the return values
of the scripts it runs, but only displays their
output. It is also easy to interface nall with
Nagios plugins.

firewall_e is a small Web application which allows administrators to create lists of servers, users, and ports and assign them to each other. This allows an administrator to login, create users, and assign ports on servers for them to access. Users can login and their remote IP address will be stored. From this address, they'll then be able to access whatever services the administrator provided them.

NetCallback is a Java application permitting the export of TCP and UDP ports behind a firewall to hosts outside the firewall. This may be useful in some special cases, for example, centralized control of test (demo) networks, or connection to applets running in browsers. NetCallback consists of a public and a private server. The public server executes on a host outside the firewall and is responsible for receiving port forwarding requests. The private server is run on a host behind the firewall and is responsible for contacting the public server and connecting the protected TCP and/or UDP service to the public server clients. The connection between public and private servers may optionally be encrypted using SSL.

rrshd differs from rshd in that it ignores the
remote user's alleged identity and credentials,
and unconditionally runs local tasks as a specific
unprivileged user ("nobody" or similar). It will
only allow execution of programs listed in a
configuration file (/etc/rrsh.allow), and will
exec those programs directly without using an
intermediary shell of any kind. It also has TCP
wrapper support. These modifications make it a
good deal more secure than traditional rshd.
