nss_pgsql is a PostgreSQL backend for the Linux Name Service Switch. It allows haveing users without any entry in the passwd/shadow file but defined in a Postgres database.

DeaDBeeF is an audio player for GNU/Linux and other UNIX-like systems. It is written in C with some plugins in C++. It has minimal dependencies, a native GTK2 GUI, cuesheet support, support for MP3, Ogg, FLAC, and APE, chiptune formats with subtunes, song-length databases, and more. It is very fast and lightweight, and
extensible using plugins (DSP, GUI, output, input, etc.). The GUI looks similar to Foobar2000.

Selenium Remote Control is a test tool that allows
you to write automated Web application UI tests in
any programming language against any HTTP Web site
using any mainstream JavaScript-enabled browser.
Selenium Remote Control provides a Selenium
Server, which can automatically start, stop, and
control any supported browser. It works by using
Selenium Core, a pure HTML/JS library that
performs automated tasks in JavaScript.

wbs is a webshots.com client that downloads and
creates a background list for use with Xfce, icewm, and Windowmaker.

FBAC-LSM is a security mechanism for Linux which retricts applications based on the features they provide, such as "Web Browser" or "Image Editor". By restricting the actions of applications, the damage which can be caused by malware or software vulnerabilities can be significantly reduced. Reusable policy abstractions, known as functionalities, can be used to grant the authority to perform high level features (for example using the Web_Browser functionality) or lower level features (such as using the HTTP_Client functionality) or to grant privileges to access any specified resources. Functionalities are parameterized, which allows them to be adapted to the needs of specific applications. Functionalities are also hierarchical; that is, functionalities can contain other functionalities.

mpr finds malloc/realloc memory leaks and memory allocation statistics by using a simple, brute force strategy: log all malloc/free calls to a file and post-process this log file when the program terminates. mpr keeps track of the entire call chain leading up to a malloc/free call. This is superior to conventional methods that keep track of only the immediate caller using __FILE__ and __LINE__ pre-processor tricks.

KMetronome is a MIDI metronome with KDE interface, based
on the ALSA sequencer. The intended audience is musicians
and music students. Like solid, real metronomes it is a tool
to keep the rhythm while playing musical instruments. It
uses MIDI for sound generation instead of digital audio,
allowing low CPU usage, and very accurate timing thanks to
the ALSA sequencer.

Architecture Rules is a Java library that allows a
programmer to assert code's architecture via unit
tests or ant tasks. This test is able to assert
that specific packages do not depend on others and
is able to check for and report on cyclic
dependencies among your project's packages and
classes. This project wraps a industry accepted
JDepend to simplify the process of maintaining a
solid software architecture.

Watch_Web is a small Python script that will
notify you about the changes of a particular Web
site via email. It manages a list of Web sites to
check and a list of email addresses per site to
notify on a change. It is easily configurable and
is used via the command line.

fsql is a GNU readline-enabled interface to Oracle that should be much easier to use than the standard sqlplus. A lot of the behavior is modeled after the MySQL client program.

online.php analyses /var/log/ppp-usage and displays how many connections you had, how much time you spent online, and what amount of data you sent and received. It also prints some information about your current PPP link.

AdlMIDI is a command line program that plays MIDI files using software OPL3 emulation (FM synthesis). It has a console UI. It features a built-in selection of 50 patch sets, most of which are General MIDI compatible, but some of which are customized for playing original background music soundtracks of select PC games.
