Java XMail is a simple API for sending email from
any Java class (such as JSP or servlets). It
supports CC, BCC, HTML mail, and attachments.

UMPL for XmailServer is a Web frontend for
managing Xmailserver and Webmailsolution. Different frontends are presented for root, the postmasters of virtual domains, and end-users. It includes support for managing finger, POP3, SMTP, and Webmail in German, English, Dutch, Italian, and Spanish.

Designed as a Perl framework to support many different types of POP and email servers, Mobile POP Relay is useful for mobile users. Once a user successfully authenticates against a POP server, relaying is allowed through the server for a specified time period. It supports Ipop3d, Qpopper, and Vpopd with Sendmail or Exim.

KBPack is a package for installing pre-compiled
utilities, libraries, and services, and for
extending some functionality on QNAP
TS-101/TS-201. KBPack contains a Web UI to manage
its services and functions.

Net::Server::Mail is a versatile and extensible implementation of the SMTP protocol and its different evolutions like ESMTP and LMTP. The event-driven, object-oriented API makes it easy to incorporate the SMTP protocol to your programs.

MailFeeder is a tool that was designed to inject a
mailpack back into an MTA such as Sendmail or Postfix
using socket calls. Originally developed to allow
projects like Inflex to send emails back into Postfix via
a high port, it is also useful for scripting SMTP load
testing.

GLST is an SMTP grey listing implementation that
uses GDBM to store triplets and associated
metadata. It can parse XMail spool files to
extract SMTP connection information without the
caller having to specify them in the command line.

Maverix is an AOLserver module that implements the
SMTP protocol and acts as an SMTP proxy with
anti-spam and anti-virus capabilities. It includes
a Web interface to manage quarantined messages and
an administrative interface based on OSSWEB.
Supported anti-spam software includes SpamAssassin
and DSPAM, and supported anti-virus software
packages are ClamAV and Sophos. Features include
whitelisting, greylisting, and blacklisting,
periodic digests with quarantined messages, a
challenge/response mechanism, POP-auth, and
short-TTL URLs for digests.

libsrs2 is the next generation SRS library. SPF
verifies that the Sender address of an email
message matches (according to some policy) the
client IP address that submitted it. When a
message is forwarded, the sender address must be
rewritten to comply with SPF policy. The Sender
Rewriting Scheme, or SRS, provides a standard for
this rewriting that is not vulnerable to attacks
by spammers, is easy to parse by common mail
filters, and handles multiple hops neatly and
safely.

Sendmail::AccessDB provides an API for users of
Sendmail::Milter to easily determine if a recipient is
a "willing recipient" of spam, or if a particular site
has been explicitly whitelisted, so that mail from
there is not blocked. It also allows generic lookups.

GreenMail is a suite of email servers for testing
purposes and sandbox
development. It supports SMTP, POP3, and IMAP
(including SSL) and can be
embedded into any Java application or unit test.
The GreenMail Service
(SAR) extension runs as a JBoss embedded developer
mail server sandbox,
manageable via JMX.

Scam-backscatter is a milter that prevents
backscatter on mail servers which don't host
mailboxes locally. It validates mailboxes by
verifying the recipient addresses hosted on a
different mail server.

Sendmail-TLS is a wrapper for Sendmail which allows for clients to make a secure (SSL) connection to their mailserver as described in RFC 2487. The connection is internally forwarded to sendmail and does not require sendmail to be running on port 25. Clients which support this currently are Netscape Messenger, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Outlook Express.

Sendooway is a multi-user and multi-target ESMTP proxy that acts as mail transfer agent. Instead of configuring SMTP servers and authentication data for every mail identity on every device, it allows you to configure them centrally. Sendooway automatically uses the correct smarthost, logs on with the user's account data, and sends their mail.
