SpurTracer is a push-notification based monitoring solution for heterogenous loosely coupled IT infrastructures. It complements a service-endpoint monitoring solution like Nagios with a component-level interface auto-discovery. It automatically provides a certain level of functional tracing along with many non-functional measurements (e.g. call, error and timeout rates, interface latency, component execution, etc.). While being zero config itself, SpurTracer relies on you adding push notification support to the components you want to monitor. The best way to use SpurTracer is by adding punctual tracing to components in your infrastructure on-demand.

StatsDawg is a suite that has been designed to be
easily usable as well as configurable. It
monitors various aspects of a Linux system such as
CPU usage, load average, memory usage, etc. using
RRDTool and PHP.

pymiproxy is a small, lightweight, man-in-the-middle embeddable proxy capable of performing HTTP and HTTPS (or SSL) inspection. The proxy provides a built-in certificate authority that is capable of generating certificates for SSL-based destinations. Pymiproxy is also extensible, and provides two methods for extending the proxy: method overloading and a pluggable interface. It is ideal for situations where you're in dire need of a proxy to tamper with out- and/or in-bound HTTP data.

DaVINCI is a dashboard builder and editor for Nagios systems. It can be used to add advanced visualization functionalities for Nagios-based management applications. Its editor uses a drag and drop interface to allow users get monitoring indicators and information directly from their databases and show them in a graphical and animated dashboard, without having to write a single line of code.

GKrellM xkb is a plugin for GKrellM that displays
a small country flag indicating the
currently-active national keyboard layout and two
small CapsLock/NumLock indicators. It also has a
popup menu to switch between the keyboard layouts.
It requires GKrellM2 and the XKB X Window
extension.

The net-check package is a pair of simple perl scripts that will monitor and report on your internet connectivity. net-check monitors your internet connection (with user defined packet loss threshold), reconnects your internet connection after 2 failures, logs all up and downtimes, e-mails the user a monthly status report with downtime recorded and adjusted service fee.

upnp2mrtg is a simple add-on for the MRTG (Multi Router Traffic Grapher). It can be used to monitor incoming and outgoing bytes of the external interface of the FritzBox DSL router. upnp2mrtg is a command line tool to gather statistics from an upnp enabled FritzBox DSL router. It is a lightweight shell-script for use with MRTG, so no underlying external software (with the exception of netcat) or libraries are required. Using bash-networking instead of netcat is also supported.

TinyDYN is a package of client and server software for operating
dynamic DNS services. It enables anyone to run dynamic DNS services
using strong authentication or to be a client of someone using TinyDYN
as a dynamic IP management system. The clients can communicate
directly by UDP with the server, by email, or by any other transport
the admin can imagine, as the mechanism is quite straightforward.

Sample monitors files on a user-by-user basis and
waits for their timestamp or filesize to hit a
threshold, and then executes a specified command
to handle the files. It complements the cron
family of task scheduling tools.

Inputpipe is a client/server application for
making any Linux input device network-transparent.
An inputpipe client runs on a computer with some
arbitrary input devices, forwarding information
and status from those devices to an inputpipe
server. The server creates local input devices
that are identical copies of the devices being
forwarded for all practical purposes.

u2nl (u-tunnel, universal tunnel) is a small
application that listens on a TCP port and
tunnels all connections transparently via an HTTPS
proxy (using the CONNECT command) to the Internet.
Another host on the Internet is not needed. This
only works if the HTTPS proxy allows these CONNECT
connections. It can be used to provide a Linux
host with full connectivity when everything except
the http proxy is blocked by a firewall.

Cpscan is a simple portscanner.

The FORG is a graphical gopher client written in
Python. It includes bookmarking, browser-style
navigation, launching specific file types with
user-specified programs, and Gopher+ compliance.
