ZoneCheck is intended to help solve DNS misconfigurations or inconsistencies that are usually revealed by an increase in the latency of the application. The DNS is a critical resource for every network application, so it is quite important to ensure that a zone or domain name is correctly configured in the DNS.

The resolver should now handle the loss of the TCP
connection during DNS queries. The timeout for
connection to a mail server has been reduced.
Checking of DNS connectivity (port 53) has been
improved, particularly for TCP. The ip6.int zone
is handled the same way as the arpa zone. New
tests have been added, one for checking the
coherence between SOA of the different
nameservers, and one to check for unexpected
timeout on an AAAA query. Customizing zonecheck is
now done by adding a zc-custom.rb file in its
directory. Other minor bug fixes have also been
done.
