K3b is a CD and DVD burning application for Linux systems optimized for KDE. It provides a comfortable user interface to perform most CD/DVD burning tasks, such as creating an audio CD from a set of audio files or copying a CD. While the experienced user can influence all steps of the burning process, the beginner may find comfort in the automatic settings and the reasonable defaults which allow a quick start. The actual burning is done by the command line utilities cdrecord, cdrdao, and growisofs.

The progressbar in the file view was fixed. It is possible to add the "New Data DVD Project" button to the welcome window again. Problems with unreadable items when using a non-standard color scheme were fixed. The permissions on cdrecord versions >= 2.01.01a02 are now properly set. The "Disabled start button in Copy dialog" bug was fixed. A sector size of 2048 is always used when only creating an image in CD Copy. This means that extracted ISO images from CDs with non-Mode1 tracks are usable again. Directory permissions and user/group ID are preserved in data projects when using the "backup" option.
