Remote-Hand_DIOはVMware Playerと1CDLinuxのPepoLinuxを使いFOMAやDIO-シリアルを接続してネットワーク監視や外部信号の入力監視を行えるものです。
外部入力信号の変化によりメールの通知、パトライト点灯やgmailとwgetを使い遠隔地の入力信号の状態通知や外部接続機器をオン・オフするなどメール経由で行う事が出来ます。
携帯電話FOMAをUSB接続すれば遠隔地からのリモートログイン・ダイヤルインサーバーなどまさにリモートハンド（remote-hand）を手軽に実現させるVMware Applianceです。
※DIOとはDigital Input Digital Outputの略でコンピュータと外の世界をデジタル信号によって接続するものです。
このパッケージはRemote-Hand OpenMicroseverで実現したものを外部信号の入出力端子を持つボードをWindowsXPなど普段使っているPCへシリアル接続して、それに対する動作をGUIでコントロール出来るようにした物です。

o 入力端子４本のイベント登録から８本へ拡張
シリアルDIOのA～Hの８本を入力、I～Nの６本を出力として一つに設定画面で １本の入力端子に対してhigh→lowとlow→highの２つのアクションを登録出来るようにして もう一つの設定画面で同じイベントに対して更に２つのアクションを設定できるようにした 入力１番端子がlow→highのイベントに対し２つのアクションを起こせる 例えば、メールの送信とパトライトの点灯等（出力端子１番をhigh）が可能となった
