UYKFD uses metadata from Last FM's Web services API to infer relationships between artists. It then uses that information to generate playlists of related tracks. Although development is complete, it must be compiled using a development version of Scala and is therefore only suitable for expert users.

This project is now mature enough for general use, although it still requires fairly "expert" users. Changes since the last version include the use of MySQL rather than HSQLDB as a database, making the program faster while requiring less memory, various bugfixes that improve playlist generation, simplified graph generation, and completely revised documentation.

MySQL is now supported as a database, reducing memory requirements and improving response times. Distance calculations have been improved.
