TA-Linux is a Linux distribution that targets power users. It features a small base installation that end users can expand to include any required software. It also attempts to support as many different architectures as possible - at this time x86 is fully supported, with Alpha, SPARC, PPC, and PA-RISC around the corner.

Many packages were updated, including the kernel and XFree86. The collection now features over 360 packages, including GNOME 2.2 and KDE 3.1. Some bugs were also fixed.

This is a major rewrite of the whole system. Packages are now
separated for easy upgrades and more finegrained installs. The system
base, devel, x11, and maninfo categories are also integrated to the
Collection system so those packages can easily be updated and/or
recompiled. All software packages have been updated to latest
versions. The install system has been rewritten and should be a bit
more userfriendly. There is now documentation. This is the first
public ISO release, and it needs major testing.
