GNU Radius is a RADIUS server and an accompanying set of monitoring utilities. It features MySQL and PostgreSQL interfaces for authentication and/or logging (the ODBC interface allows you to use almost any existing DBMS for that purpose), the ability to rewrite RADIUS requests from various NASs to normalize them to a more understandable format, and the ability to completely customize the behavior of RADIUS authentication and accounting based on NAS and user attributes.

This release is a complete rewrite that fixes all of the bugs found in 0.96 series. It features many improvements, the most significant being the addition of a Guile interpreter to the server, which allows you to implement authentication schemes of arbitrary complexity in Scheme, and improvements to Rewrite -- the built-in Radius extension language. There are many other improvements and new features.

The statistics MIBs have been moved to the .iso.org.dod.internet.enterprises subtree. MIB conceptual tables are supplied with bidirectional indexes. A new attribute, Log-Mode-Mask, has been added. The major modes for editing configuration files users, hints, huntgroups, and config under emacs are provided.
