OpenCollection

Barcodes are now supported on labels. A new feature was added for managing a hierarchy of storage locations and tracking object locations along with a feature for recording acquisition of use rights and licensing of use rights. Basic reporting features are now implemented. The MagickWand PHP module is no longer required in order for OC to use the ImageMagick image processing back-end. PDF support no longer requires Ghostscript and is now supported on Windows. Microsoft Word documents can now be uploaded as object representations via the new MSWord media plugin.

Support for configurable accession numbering of objects, creation of unique accession numbers, a new modular mapping system, support for import of georeferencing data from GoogleEarth, support for import of Getty Art and Architecture Thesaurus, many bugfixes, and more.

Greatly improved support for running under Windows XP or 2003 Server. Support for inter-relationships between authority items. Tagging of authority items with controlled vocabularies. All changes to objects and authority items are now logged and can be viewed and searched upon. A new and greatly improved lot-level cataloguing module. Improved georeferencing of place authority items. A greatly improved authority editing interface with additional search options. Generation of labels for any object search result set.

Authority editing and cataloging interfaces were improved and are now easier to use and support application of controlled vocabulary terms to authority items. Some minor (and not so minor) user interface annoyances were removed. Several reporting bugs were found and fixed. You can now run OpenCollection on Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 using the Apache Web server.
