OpenCA

The modularization process has been completed. Support for Internet Explorer
was added. The EMAIL field was stripped off from certificates DN. Initial
Certificate extensions management was added. LDAP support is now included using
new perl-ldap instead of Net-LDAPApi. DB backend support was added for PKI
related objects. Autoconf scripts are used extensively, and many more changes
were made.

This release fixes some bugs and provides improvements in the installation script. 0.2.3-patch3 had a nasty bug while parsing for certificates' serial numbers. This version anticipates the new upcoming release which will include many improvements -- it has been mostly rewritten since the 0.2.0-xxx versions.

CRL support in CA and RAServer, activation of the sendEMail command, installation enhancements, DB support for basic certificates (DBM, NDBM, GDBM), support for (and requirement of) OpenSSL's latest SNAP, integration of basic CA certificate's related operations into web interface (generation of CA certificate requests, CA self-signed certificates, CA certificate exports, etc.), some new sample configuration files for the Apache server (CA and RAServer), and new documentation about basic functionality and program-usage in each directory.

CA can now export newly issued certificates to removable media; RA can now import new certificates from removable media; Modified INSTALL instruction (was badly wrong); Improved installation script, install-ca (Still not working other targets on the Makefile); Includes patches directory (misc/ssl/patches) for OpenSSL patching (0.9.3 supported);

Initial documentation available in the docs directory (LiX and PS),
initial support for x509v3 extention (needs patch to OpenSSL from
Masssimiliano Pala to properly work), included htdocs directory with
needed HTML documents for CA/RA server, added some explanation
headers to programs in the bin/ directory for buildDB.pl viewDB.pl
and getCertDB.pl, and improved installation script (install-ca).
