Net::ICal is an object-oriented Perl module for handling iCalendar (RFC2445) data.
iCalendar is used for shared calendaring and supports event scheduling, todo lists, and
journals. This module is maintained by the Reefknot project, which exists to create
shared calendaring tools in Perl.

This is the second alpha release (to coincide with a talk at the O'Reilly Perl Conference). The time handling routines were rewritten to be based on Date::ICal, basic support was added for Recurrences, and more robust tests using Pod::Tests were added.

This is the first alpha release of Net::ICal since the Reefknot project took it over. Changes from prior releases by its former maintainer, Eric Busboom, include a total rework of the data structures. Prior versions were wrappers around the C library libical; this is a reimplementation in pure Perl.
