Magnolia is a CMS which delivers smartphone simplicity on an enterprise scale. This release uses Berkeley DB as the default persistence manager. Due to the use of Berkley DB instead of the filesystem, performance has again improved significantly. Activation errors are now displayed to the user if activation fails. Templates can now be stored in a hierarchy. Several minor bugs have been fixed.

This release provided many new features including full internationalization with 15 major languages, native search, import/export of XML-based data, support for several JSR-170 compliant repository implementations, including the "Jackrabbit" and "Jeiceira", and simple war-file drop-in deployment on any J2EE container.

Several bugfixes and enhancements were made. The most notable bugs that were fixed include a cache corruption issue and an issue when copying pages with binary content. The site map tag has been improved, and a new feature lets you pre-generate the complete site cache to speed up response times for first hits.

The most notable bugs that were fixed include a
missing release() on CMS tags, activated content
remaining invisible until the container is
restarted, the value of the "Last Modified" HTTP
header failing to change upon activation, and the
inability of DialogMVCHandler to handle arbitrary
nodeCollections as target.
