專案描述

KNOPPIX is a bootable CD with a collection of GNU/Linux software, automatic hardware detection, and support for many graphics cards, sound cards, SCSI devices, and other peripherals. It can be used as a Linux demo, educational CD, rescue system, etc. It is not necessary to install anything on a hard disk due to on-the-fly decompression.

Many package updates were made and kernel 2.4.27 and 2.6.9 (with ACPI) were included. KDE 3.3.1 was included from Debian/unstable along with FreeNX 0.2.5, a Java security update (1.4.2_06), a few graphics cards entries, a menu entry for Samba browsing, and isdntool-knoppix for text and GUI-based ISDN configuration. Some documents were removed to reduce the ISO image size.

/etc/X11/Xsession was updated to fix X-Login on
the installed version. pcitable was updated for
nforce ethernet chipsets. A timezone fix was made.
DefaultColorDepth is not set in XF86Config-4 if
using the fbdev module. The empty
/etc/network/interfaces broadcast line was fixed
in netcardconfig.
