mp3riot (formerly known as f2html.pl) is a command line utility that searches recursively through directories, builds a file list (with additional file information), and generates HTML files, playlists, etc. The output can be controlled, links can be corrected, and more. The script is mainly desigend to create Web pages, playlists, and databases for MP3 and Ogg files, but can also used for other purposes.

Bow allows you to bookmark Web pages and associate tags to those bookmarks. You can replace your browser's search site by bow and then be able to search using a predefined search engine or through your bookmarks. Bow can be used as a service or by installing it on your server.

Lurker is a mailing list archiver designed for
capacity, speed, simplicity, and configurability,
in that order. Noteworthy features include:
Google-style searching on all fields, chronology
preserving threads, multilingual support, and
attachment support.

Magellan Metasearch is a modular meta search engine, enabling users
to monitor as many search engines as they want. It provides a complex
query language with standard boolean operators, meta-operators (to
search through pages' metadata), and proximity operators. This language
enables users to perform far more complex queries than what common
search engines currently support. It can be fed any custom sources,
since its abstraction layer manages the search results and their meta
tags in a uniform way. In conjunction with the local process scheduler
(such as "cron"), Magellan enables you to save your requests and replay
them later automatically; new results are sent through email and RSS
in realtime. Magellan also provides full anonymity through smart
multi-proxy support.

Curator is a powerful script that allows one to
generate Web page image galleries with the intent
of displaying photographic images on the Web, or
for a CD-ROM presentation and archiving. It
generates static Web pages only - no special
configuration or running scripts are required on the
server. The script supports many file formats,
hierarchical directories, thumbnail generation and
update, per-image description file with many fields,
and 'tracks' of images spanning multiple directories.
The templates consist of HTML with embedded
Python. Running this script only requires a recent
Python interpreter and the ImageMagick tools.

HyperSQL is like the doxygen program with Javadoc added, but for SQL. It hypermaps SQL views, packages, procedures, and functions to HTML source code listings, and it shows all the code locations where these are used. You can use JavaDoc-style comments for documentation and even embed UnitTests with them.

Ajaqs is a Web application that organizes FAQs on a per-project basis. The UI is templatized, the content is internationalized, and the styles are highly configurable. Secure login is provided via webapp security constraints. The backend uses an O-R mapping tool to achieve independence of database-specific queries. RSS feeds provide subscribers continuous updates on a per-project or per-FAQ basis. FAQs are dynamically served up as HTML pages, and can optionally be streamed to clients as PDF content.

Historical Event Markup and Linking Project (Heml) provides an XML schema for historical events and a Java Web app which transforms conforming documents into hyperlinked timelines, maps and tables. It aims to provide a most information-rich interchange format for historical data, and thus add a historical component to the growing movement for a 'Semantic Web.'

SCAN is a personal information retrieval
framework, combining search, text analysis,
tagging, and metadata functions for document
collections management. SCAN is a component-based
software using a number of plugins for specific
features. The basic SCAN platform can be easily
extended with plugins for different document
formats and document location types.

A 'honeypot' is designed to detect server-side
attacks. In contrast, a 'honeyclient' is designed
to detect client-side attacks. Specifically, a
honeyclient is a dedicated host that drives
specially instrumented applications to access
remote servers to see if those servers are
behaving in a malicious manner (by compromising
the client). Honeyclients can proactively detect
exploits against client applications without known
signatures. This framework uses a client-server
model with SOAP messaging as the primary
communication method, and uses the free version of
VMware Server as a means of virtualizing the
client environment.

quaneko is a file indexing and search application. It can index plain
text files as well as various other file formats, depending on its
configuration (e.g., doc, pdf, html, xml, mp3, etc.).

cthumb allows you to create Web albums of digital pictures with thumbnails, captions, and several different views of the collection, including (optionally) several languages and resolutions. An album is composed of a series of pages, each composed of a collection of pictures. You can have several annotations per picture, and can customize almost everything in the way the albums look on the screen.
