qmail-spp provides plug-in support for the qmail
SMTP daemon (qmail-smtpd). It allows you to write
external programs and use them to check SMTP
command argument validity. The plug-in can trigger
several actions, like denying a command with an
error message, logging data, adding a header, and
much more.

Postfix Admin is a Web-based management tool for
Postfix. It handles Postfix-style virtual domains
and users that are stored in MySQL or PostgreSQL. It has support for over 20 languages. It was initially released in December of 2002.

Putmail is a very lightweight MTA or SMTP client that may replace the sendmail command when used by MUAs that lack SMTP support.

ACL Policy Daemon communicates with the Postfix MTA using the Policy Delegation Protocol, implementing an ACL (Access Control List) system. Key features: greylisting with flexible storage using memory for fast responses or disk for high persistence, SPF validation, control of messages by day/time, variable message size limits per domain or email, multiple RBL checking, and various ACLs available to use and combine. The configuration is simple and intuitive.

SPF is a new strategy for preventing junk mail.
The present SMTP standard for email allows anyone
to forge anyone else's email address. SPF verifies
that the Sender address of an email message
matches (according to some policy) the client IP
address that submitted it. libspf2 is a complete
and robust implementation of SPF which provides
support for many MTAs. Support for new MTAs is in
progress.

Quotient is multi-protocol (SMTP, POP, IMAP, SIP,
HTTP, Q2Q) server that helps with all your online
conversations, be they over email, IRC, IM,
mailing lists, or voice over IP. It is written in
Python on the Twisted framework, and uses Xapian
for search and SpamBayes for spam classification.

pushmail aims to be the opposite of fetchmail. It can be used to push email messages to an SMTP server without the need of configuring the local MTA.

QMail Installation is a small and very practical
script that makes it easy to install qmail and
other related tools, such as vpopmail,
qmailadmin, spamassassin, F-prot, and qmailmrtg.

sendxmpp is a command-line tool which makes
sending xmpp (jabber) messages as easy as sending
mail with the "mail" command. This makes adding IM
to your programs and scripts very easy.

XamimeLT is an email scanner which encapsulates
your existing sendmail or Postfix server setup. It
scans both incoming and outgoing email. It can
scan for email viruses, unwanted file types (eg.
EXE, BMP, MPEG) and file names (eg.
prettypark.exe), spam, and almost anything you
care to search for in an email. It can also be
used to scan for text snippets within emails and
to insert disclaimers into outbound emails.
XamimeLT was formerly known as "Inflex".

Vacation is a Horde module for managing user email "vacation notices" or "auto-responders." It works via a local vacation program and the .forward style forwarding mechanism supported by several popular mailers. Currently, it provides fairly complete support for managing .forward style vacation notices on Sendmail or Courier mail based systems via an FTP transport. It also has some support for LDAP, Qmail, and Exim SQL based servers.

SubEthaSMTP is an easy to understand Java library
that provides a receptive SMTP server component.
By plugging this component into your Java application, you can easily receive SMTP mail using a simple abstract Java interface. Also included is a small sub-project called Wiser, an easy to use incoming mail testing framework.

DJIGZO Email Encryption Gateway is a centrally managed email server that encrypts and decrypts incoming and outgoing email at the gateway level. Djigzo currently supports two encryption standards: S/MIME and PDF encryption. The built-in Data Leak Prevention (DLP) module can be used to prevent certain information from leaving the organization via email. DLP can be configured to filter on credit card numbers, bank account numbers, excessive amounts of email addresses or other personal information in one email message, and more. DJIGZO can be installed on most Linux and Unix based systems. Installation packages are available for Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat and CentOS. A ready to run virtual appliance for VMware and Hyper-V is available. An add-on for BlackBerry is available.

Net_NNTP is a PHP/PEAR library for communication with NNTP servers. Net_NNTP handles connection and protocol-level commands (RFC977), including many non-standard commands (RFC2980), via a user-friendly API which hides the actual NNTP commands/syntax. Some knowledge about NNTP and general knowledge about email and MIME is required, since parsing of content and headers is left up to the user. Net_NNTP allows advanced users direct usage of NNTP commands via the separate protocol implementation. Net_NNTP includes a fully-functional NNTP to HTML gateway demo application.

EXACT is a program that implements POP-before-SMTP
relay authentication. It supports UW-imap,
Qpopper, Cyrus, Perdition, TeaPOP, EXIM, and
Sendmail out of the box. POP-before-SMTP relay
authentication is commonly used on systems that
provide IMAP and/or POP services as well as SMTP
services, to authenticate users for mail sending
based on their previous authentication against an
IMAP or POP server.
