Slackcurrent is a tool that checks if there are newer versions
of packages installed on Slackware boxes available on a mirror
site. It determines which packages are installed locally, updates
the list of remote files available on the mirror site, compares
them, and reports on updates.

regionset allows you to check and set the region
code of DVD drives. This program was part of the
package "dvd_disc_20000215.tar.gz" from
Convergence, which is no longer distributed
because of the new German copyright law. (The
package also contained some CSS and copying
related tools.) regionset was separated and all
CSS related stuff was removed. This program is
needed by everyone with a new DVD drive that
doesn't have a region code set, since the drive
will only play Video DVDs when the region code has
been set once.

DAS is a Dynamic content Administration System for
Web sites. It is designed for managing the content
of a database, allowing you to browse, add, edit,
and delete data. It is somewhat similar to
phpMyAdmin, but is specialized for editing the
content of Web sites and their sections. It
features an easy-to-use, but powerful and highly
tunable interface. It has international language
support, but only the English and Russian
languages are currently supported.

myAmavis is a small Web frontend to amavisd-new.
You can configure per recipient spam and virus
filter settings, have a lightweight quarantine
management frontend, and have a statistics module
for mail messages processed by amavisd-new. It is
based on the SQL lookup and storage feature of
amavisd-new.

snifob is a sniffer output beautifier written in perl. It colourizes and de-hex-ifies console based packet sniffer output to improve readability.

SGQI is a print quota system for CUPS. It features
per-printer user and group quotas, automated popup
messages to users, and a Web application that lets
users access print quota usage reports with a
complete job history. Users, groups, printers, and
quotas are all administered through the Web.

edx is a Bash script that makes it easier to use your .xinitrc (or its equivalent) file. It allows you to keep different window managers and call the most appropriate one in different situations.

Emergency CD 3 GE is a live Linux CD console
intended mainly for console use. It based on the
Gentoo live CD and includes many filesystems, access
and recovery software, network discovery and
diagnostic tools, and some multimedia utilities.

twoauth provides a method for two-phase authentication using OpenBSD's authentication subsystem which was originally developed as a way of leveraging time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) in addition to an account's regular credentials.

kchuid is an experimental Linux kernel module that
allows you to change the UID/GID/CAPS of a
running process (by PID). Think of it as providing a
setuid() system call that also has a pid_t argument.
It's the first step in a full authentication system,
and further, a full Unixish system devoid of setuid
binaries/scripts.

This program is similar to ping, but tests
connectivity at the link layer (layer 2) instead
of the network layer (layer 3). This works like
the HP-UX linkloop utility. It was tested between
Linux and HP-UX (both ways). There is also a
"server-side" utility for Linux (linkloop_reply).
There are plans to move the "reply" support into
the kernel.
