Pole Display Control Program is a simple program that was
designed to control a PD6000 pole display (and other pole
displays that connect to a serial port) for cash registers and
other applications.

inputcntrl is a utility for controlling Linux 'input'
devices. It was created out of a need to set
the characteristics of a Sun keyboard attached
to a serial port and registered
as /dev/input/eventN with inputattach.

Perle dialout allows you to dialout from one of the workstations on an ethernetwork using a Perle 833. The Perle 833 RAS server is a full dial-in server that connects directly to ethernet. The "dial-in" functionality requires no special drivers.

nullmodem creates a virtual network of
pseudo-terminals. It can be used as an adapter to
connect two programs that normally need serial
interface cards.

Libbraille makes it easy to access Braille
displays and terminals. It can write text on a
Braille display, directly draw Braille dots, or
get the value of pressed keys. It is compatible
with a wide range of Braille displays, and can
autodetect some of them. A virtual GTK+ display is provided so that developers can test how their application would be rendered in Braille.

checkraid is a very simple Perl script for
monitoring some external RAID devices connected to
a Unix/Linux PC via a serial device. It works with
(at least some) EasyRAID, Infotrend, Chaparral, and StorCase InfoStation S10H112
RAID devices.
