TOEJAM is a telephone answering machine. It uses a
voice modem as the base of an IVR system, and
sends its results via email. Only the US Robotics
56K Pro Msg is currently supported, though the USR
Sportster may work.

ttywatch monitors, logs, and multiplexes terminal
I/O. It has full log rotation built in, and can
use telnet as well as local TTY ports.

SSHWebProxy is a Java servlet application that
provides a pure HTML client interface to SSH shell
and file transfer connections.

AKFAvatar is a fancy graphical user interface for text oriented applications where an avatar appears on the screen and provides information in a balloon. It also supports recorded audio files. Applications for AKFAvatar can be written in Lua, and there are interfaces for C and Free Pascal.

A number of ready-to-use applications and modules are provided, including a text viewer and a module that makes question-answer exercises. For POSIX-compatible operating systems there is a man page viewer and a terminal emulator, which makes it possible to run many existing terminal-based programs in this fancy environment.

DIET-PC (DIskless Embedded Technology Personal Computer) is a software kit enabling IT professionals to build embedded Linux appliances based on commodity PC or Mac hardware and various commercial embedded appliances. The focus is on platform portability, OS fundamentals and developer friendliness, rather than the end-user UI. The distribution is intended primarily for desktop graphical appliances, particularly thin clients (using the X11/XDMCP, ICA, RDP, and RFB graphics protocols). Although originally a network-booting OS, DIET-PC works well with various forms of solid-state persistent storage and hence is no longer strictly "diskless". The project uses QEMU virtual machines running Debian Linux (under Windows) as self-contained development environments, and hence may also be of interest for its unusual (non-x86) QEMU accomplishments.

Qodem is a re-implementation of the Qmodem DOS shareware communications package, updated for more modern uses. Major features include Unicode support, scrollback buffer, capture file, screen dump, dialing directory, keyboard macros, script support, Xmodem, Ymodem, Zmodem, and Kermit. It can connect over serial port, telnet, ssh, rlogin, and command line, and supports multiple terminal emulations including ANSI.SYS, Avatar, VT100/102, VT220, and Linux.

h3270 provides access to IBM 3270 hosts from within a
web browser. It features a highly configurable layout
engine based on regular expressions. Unlike other
systems, it is implemented as a server-side Java
application, rather than an applet.

ConMan is a serial console management program designed to support a large number of console devices and simultaneous users. It supports local serial devices, remote terminal servers (via the telnet protocol), IPMI Serial-Over-LAN (via FreeIPMI), Unix domain sockets, and external processes (e.g., using Expect to control connections over telnet, ssh, or IPMI Serial-Over-LAN). Its features include logging (and optionally timestamping) console device output to file, connecting to consoles in monitor (R/O) or interactive (R/W) mode, allowing clients to share or steal console write privileges, and broadcasting client output to multiple consoles.

sercd is an RFC 2217-compliant serial port redirector. It lets you
share a serial port through a network. It is based on sredird.

Bixtep is a command line application for organizing notes in a flexible and customizable way in the Bash shell. Its uses span from quick note taking to managing excerpts, sources, and any other type of textual content. All data is stored in an XML file.

ggiterm is a software terminal emulator like
xterm. However instead of X, it uses the GGI
system for its rendering, which allows it to be
displayed on anything from a framebuffer to
multi-screens across networked hosts (including
ordinary X sessions). It features multiple font
formats, anti-aliasing, vt100 compatibility, and full internationalization.

rrs is a reverse (connecting) remote shell.
Instead of listening, it will connect out to rrs
in listen mode. The listener will accept the
connection and receive a shell from the remote
host. rrs features full pseudo-TTY support, full
OpenSSL support (client/server authentication and
choice of cipher suites), Twofish encryption, a
simple XOR cipher, plain-text sessions, peer-side
session snooping, a daemon option, and
reconnection features. It is known to compile and
run under Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, and QNX.

The Useful Terminal I/O library is a C++
alternative to ncurses for working with
terminfo-defined terminals. Included are raw terminfo string access and output, an efficient buffered output system, and a keyboard driver.
