DNRD is a proxy DNS daemon. It supports several forward servers for redundancy and/or load-balancing. DNS queries for specific domains can be forwarded to a specific group of DNS servers (with redundancy and load balancing) for that domain. It is very useful in VPN and dialup environments but can also be used as a DNS cache or ad-blocker for networks and workstations.

DNSdoctor is a tool based on zonecheck that is
intended to help with solving misconfigurations
and inconsistencies in DNS zone files. It features
a powerful configuration file, does not depend on
policies, fine grained test selection (by test,
categories, or zones), full IPv6 support
(connectivity and AAAA records), and several
input/output interfaces (CLI, GUI, CGI, and a
dedicated mode for use inside shell scripts). It
uses threads to cut down checking time and can be
extended with new tests, interfaces, and reports,
and features exception and cache mechanisms to
simplify test writing.

RULI stands for Resolver User Layer Interface. It's a library built on top of an asynchronous DNS stub resolver. RULI provides an easy-to-use interface for querying DNS SRV resource records. The main goal is to promote wide deployment of SRV-cognizant programs. RULI aims to automatically perform all the SRV logic described by RFC 2782, and to comply with related specifications. As a side-effect, RULI also provides a general-purpose, event-driven, asynchronous, stub DNS resolver. There are bindings for Perl, PHP, Guile/Scheme, Java, and Lua. IPv6 is supported.

ZoneAdmin is a Web interface for the powerDNS name
server using the MySQL backend. It allows you to
manage existing zones and add, remove, and alter
new ones, supports on-the-fly input validation,
and allows comments per zone and per record.
Furthermore, it keeps a detailed history of
changes and allows you to temporary enable or
disable zones without having to remove them
completely. New zones can use templates that
contain predefined records. It is designed to be
used with one of Apache's authentication methods.

SuaveDNS is a set of Perl and PHP programs which
allow DNS administrators to easily add, remove, or
update zones with an easy to use Web-based
control panel. The DNS server is DJBDNS, and the
data is stored in a MySQL database.

ANDReA is a LAMP-based system for registration of network clients using DHCP. Splitting the network into "boot-net" for unregistered users and a "real-net" for registered users makes it possible to gather information about users in the network. Additionally it is possible to detect active services (FTP, WWW, a game server, etc.) and unregistered computers in the network. It is mainly used for LAN parties. 

PHREL is a per host rate limiter. It will track the rate of incoming traffic on a server and insert a chain into iptables when a configured threshold is crossed. The inserted chain may either rate limit or block the offending host for a period of time. The inserted chain is automatically removed when the offending host's traffic levels return to normal. PHREL is particularly well suited to protecting nameservers (DNS) from random hosts that flood requests, and to preventing SSH brute force login attempts.

GNU Privacy Guard DNS Keyserver Client enables
sending and retrieving OpenPGP keys with GnuPG to
and from DNS-based keyservers. DNS-based
keyservers offer several advantages over
traditional HTTP-based ones, such as distributed
caching, server fail-over, and geographical
optimal server selection, etc.

dhcp-utils is a set of utilities for managing DHCP
servers. ddc is for dhcp daemon control, and is
similar to apachectl for ISC dhcpd. dhcping is
used to ping a dhcp server with REQUEST or INFORM
packets. dhcpdump is a filter for tcpdump used to
debug dhcp packets.

ZoneMaster is a tool for zone file and name server management. It consists of a library that can configure BIND and a Web-based user interface that is used to access the data that is stored in a database. A bootstrap script allows you to initialize the database with all necessary information retrieved from an existing configuration. All modifications are saved as jobs in the database, and a job handler makes the necessary changes from time to time. The user interface is based on XSLT-stylesheets and can be easily modified.

NicTool is a DNS management suite with support for various DNS servers (djbdns, BIND, PowerDNS), SQL data storage, DNS entry parsing (RFC 1034 & 1035 compliance), tiered and delegated permissions so you can safely grant access to clients and admins, giving them only the permissions they need. Humans interact via the Web interface, and an API is used for scripting mass updates, DNS templates, provisioning, and more. All changes are logged to easily track change history and see who changed what, and when.

ProBIND is a Web application designed for managing
the DNS zones for one or more servers running the
ISC BIND DNS server software. It works best for
companies that need to manage a medium-sized pool
of domains across a set of servers.

GnuDIP is a application designed to allow an ISP to publish a DNS hostname for a customer without having to assign a static IP address. Customers can maintain the address information via a CGI on the ISP's website. For those who are familiar with the dyn.ml.org part this is a simple replacement package.
