gcombust is a CD burner GUI. It works as a GTK+ frontend for mkisofs, mkhybrid, cdrecord, and cdlabelgen. It has primitive support for controlling the directory (root) structure and size of an image without copying files/symlinking or writing 10 lines of arguments. It can also maximize disk usage by hinting at which directories/files to use.
CD-Command is a primitive commandline CD player/ripper which supports CDDB lookups and can cache CDDB information for offline use. It can rip to .wav natively, or use an external program for encoding to other formats.
Vistag is a full-featured massive audio ripping
tool. It can be clustered over many computers and
many CD reading/writing devices, uses a nice
little language for tagging, and is built around
the Ogg Vorbis codec and tag system.
numtracks is a simple command-line application that will print the number of tracks on the CD-ROM that is currently in the drive. This is useful for automated MP3-ripping of an entire album, via a simple Perl script, cdparanoia, and bladeenc/gogo.
cdr stands for CDRip. It is a Perl program that
uses dialog to provide an ncurses front end for
ripping audio and encoding MP3s. It supports
lame, cdparanoia, and CDDB / FreeDDB
cdname.py names MP3 files and generates M3U playlists from CDDB/freedb INF files. (These are often retrieved with cdda2wav -L). MP3s and playlists can be named using any combination of artist name, track
title, album name, track number, etc. Many
aspects are configurable via command line
options. It should complement most
ripping/encoding pipelines well.
CDDBD.sh is a shellscript speaking the CDDB Protocol version 1 without enhancements and read only. CDDBD.sh allows to query a local database on a filesystem that was filled with entries using such programs like xmcd or kscd. CDDBD.sh was developed to be used in a local or home network and not to serve a WAN.

tsrip is an audio CD ripping and encoding
solution. It supports free codecs, gets album
information from the musicbrainz database, and has
a simple-to-use command-line user interface.
CDDB.py provides an easy way for Python programs to fetch track and disc information on audio CDs. This information is acquired from CDDB, a very large online database of track listings and other information on audio CDs. Included is a C extension module to enable Python to read track listings from audio CDs under Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and Win32. The interface to this extension module is portable and is intended to be ported to other OSes easily.
Apetag is command line tagging tool for
multimedia files such as Monkey's Audio and
Musepack that use the APE 2.0 standard.
It also comes with a script, tagdir, that will tag all the tracks in an album by invoking apetag or other similar tools (e.g. metaflac) for each track. All that is needed is the album's freedb record.
DaemonRip runs as a Unix daemon and polls a CD
drive to see if an audio CD is inserted. When an
audio CD is detected, it will automatically
connect to a CDDB server to determine the name,
artists, and tracks of the CD, and begin to rip
and encode the CD using your preferred ripping and
encoding applications. When finished ripping the
disc, it will be ejected from the drive, allowing
you to insert a new one to continue the process.
No other user interaction is required. This
application also keeps statistics about your
ripping and encoding times, and logs all of the
actions to a log file.
pyrip provides a Python module named "rip" which
allows you to extract audio tracks from an IDE
CD-ROM drive and save them to your hard drive in
wave file format. It is based on DAGRAB, a package
written by Marcello Urbani.
autorip/autotag is a pair of shell scripts that
facilitate mp3 tagging and encoding, in locations
with discontinuous connection to the Internet.
python-musicbrainz2 provides simple, object
oriented access to the MusicBrainz Web service.
The MusicBrainz Project (see
http://musicbrainz.org) provides music metadata
maintained by its large and constantly growing
user community. This package helps you to write CD
ripper applications, taggers, and media players by
giving easy access to music metadata.
