The installer system has been overhauled. Akismet spam filtering has been added. There are several visual enhancements to the forum. MySQLi support has been added.

An SQL injection was fixed. External HTTP links
now correctly set _blank targets as needed.
Conversion code no longer uses the wrong DB file
name. Removing all member titles no longer causes
everyone to logout. Search criteria now properly
spans multiple result pages. A lack of formatting
on forum names was corrected. Validation
recommendations for email addresses were
corrected. The ability to mark a PM as unread was
added.

The error library would reveal database information when showing a connection error. This has been fixed.

This release has a new default skin, a new bbcode parser, tightened permissions security, new database backup/restore handling, improved time zone handling, HttpOnly cookies for IE, and numerous other bugfixes and enhancements.

Most languages now use UTF-8. This could cause
some "corruption" of
existing posts that use non-English characters.
Unfortunately, this
change is necessary for the Javascript tricks that
are being added.
Language updates have been made for Swedish,
Norwegian, and German. A
new backup tool uses XML and is far less likely to
run out of memory.
