qscanq provides a virus-scanning wrapper for
qmail. Infected messages are rejected before they
reach the queue, so the server doesn't generate
bounce messages, doesn't attempt notifications,
and doesn't receive infected emails.

Portability issues affecting BSD, Solaris, and
64-bit platforms were fixed. Two major features
were added: qscanq now supports chaining with
other wrappers such as spam assassin, and it also
passes environment variables to later wrappers in
the chain.
This release adds configuration debugging using the environment variable "DEBUG", and corrects the "errno" compile-time test. Anyone experiencing build or configuration problems with earlier versions should upgrade.
Failure to execute the virus scanner was treated as virus detection. This release scans the raw email message as well as the extracted parts; some viruses are recognized only by signatures in the raw message itself. Upgrading should be considered mandatory even though these failures are low-probability.
