Popselect is a tool to manage a POP 3 mailbox. It allows you to see a list of all messages waiting on a server with their headers and possibly delete, fetch, or read and save into a local mailbox some or all of them. Simple curses and X interfaces are available.

A simple X interface built on the xlib curses replacement library has been created. Support was added for message reading from the server, saving messages to a local mailbox, and searching the message list (so now the program can actually be used as a tiny email reader). The interface was enhanced with new key bindings. There are many bugfixes.

Support for MIME message header extensions for non-ASCII text through libiconv has been added. Authorization with the APOP command is now supported. Numerous interface enhancements (horizontal scroll, help window, additional key bindings, windows hiding, etc). Sorting of messages by size, date, and "From" header has been added. A man page with command line options has been added. Successfully completed sessions are now automatically saved into a configuration file.
