libwmf is a library to convert Microsoft's WMF (Windows Metafile) format to something useful. Bindings exist to convert them to onscreen X graphics, to the png format, and to fig and eps.

libwmf now builds as two libraries: libwmflite,
the parser itself; and libwmf, the utility
functions, device layers, etc. ImageMagick should
prefer to use this release rather than earlier
ones.
This release introduces redirectable character output streams which should facilitate the writing of WMF importers. (People who use libwmf in conjuction with wv will need to upgrade to wv-0.7.0 or later.) Also, support for a ghostscript-style fontmap and the beginnings of doxygen-generated documentation have been added.
