gmodconfig provides a simple way for end-
users to download, install, configure, and
update Linux kernel modules through an easy-
to-use graphic interface. The backend consists

This release provides the core of gmodconfig as a Bonobo control. On Linux this enables applications to easily provide a driver configuration and installation interface to their users.
This version provides GUI improvements, and supports
kernel 2.6 modules. The DKMS package installer has been
improved to support both tarballs and RPMs. The kernel
modules metadata (XML files) used by gmodconfig are
now released separately in the gmodconfig-data package.
This version includes bugfixes, a search box to
quickly access modules by name, GUI improvements
in the Parameters tab, and supports for
downloading and installing kernel modules
packaged for DKMS.
This release features a GNOME assistant druid to help
kernel module authors create or edit the XML files
gmodconfig depends on. Other changes include caching
of XML and XSA data for better user interface
performance, and bugfixes.
