GenealogyJ is a full-featured standalone Java application that can handle all of your genealogic information. It provides different graphical components for working on your family tree and is GEDCOM compliant. It requires a Java 1.4 Virtual Machine and runs on Windows / Mac / Linux.

This release adds support for calendars (Gregorian, Hebrew, French Rev,
and Julian), private encryption of property values, and more complex
report options (multiple choices, etc.). It changes the way settings are
handled (~/.genj) and how custom .ged records are preserved. It fixes a
couple of bugs and makes lots of small adjustments (visually, using the
Report API and Gedcom model).
