An ODE45 solver was added. SVG support was added
for exporting figures. A "recent files" feature
was added to the editor. Keyboard shortcuts were
added to the editor and main application menus. A
quiver plots execute-selected-text button was
added. A directory-change tool was added to the
main toolbar. Complex numbers can be displayed.
The behavior of the editor when opening and saving
(new) files was improved.

The new ctype interface was added, which allows
you to pass complex data structures back and forth
between FreeMat and C/C++ code. You can now change
the scrollback via the console preferences. FFTs
(especially large ones) should execute much
quicker now. Errors now generate stack traces,
even when not in dbauto on mode. The "edit"
command has been added, along with the imagesc

This release fixes some critical bugs in the
previous release. In particular, the 64-bit
compilation bug has been fixed, and the Mac OS X
package has been fixed. Also, several general bugs
have been fixed.

The output format for FreeMat numbers is now closer to MATLABs, and can be adjusted using the format command. The console window has been rewritten and should be more robust and faster. Contour plots in 2D and 3D are now supported, along with labels. Anonymous and nested functions are now supported. Audio record/playback functionality has been added via the wavplay/wavrecord/etc. functions. Performance and memory usage have also been improved.

This version includes a new Threading API, which
allows you to take advantage of multi-core and
multi-processor machines from within your
FreeMat/MATLAB programs. FreeMat now has powerful
Perl-style regular expression manipulations. A
new, unified multi-platform regression test suite
is now shipped with FreeMat (as the run_tests
command). Flicker during plotting updates has been
eliminated. The help window has a new search tool
now to help you quickly locate functions and help
topics. The memory usage of FreeMat has been
significantly improved.
