DIY Dynamic DNS is a set of scripts and related
configuration files for clients to send updated IP addresses to a nameserver. It is useful if you have a domain that you want to host on a computer which gets its IP address via DHCP, and have administrative control (or know someone who does) of an Internet name server. Updates are done securely using shared secret keys and the nsupdate utility in bind. Updates are performed only when the IP address changes, or the hostname being updated doesn't resolve correctly. These checks prevent high update loads on the server.
