專案描述

Mantissa is an application server. It provides
integration between the Axiom object database and
the Twisted framework, as well as Web
user-interface utilities. Mantissa is the
deployment target: it can serve an application
over several protocols; HTTP is one of those
protocols, but HTTP isn't treated specially by the
software.

This release adds LiveForm, a JavaScript form
library, a sharing system for selectively
publishing user content, a more uniform URL
hierarchy for static files, support for fulltext
indexing and searching based on PyLucene, an
administrative page for viewing performance and
other statistics about the running server, a new
signup mechanism which provides interactive user
feedback and a password reset page. Numerous bugs,
including several with the ordering of navigation
elements and one with the "axiomatic web" command
line, have also been fixed.

This version introduces an "Offering" plugin interface. By developing offerings, Mantissa servers can be extended quickly and easily with different sets of features. Existing users can gain access to the new functionality. Configuration of new offerings is done using a few simple Web pages. Another major new feature is a generic tabular data browser, which allows developers to easily display the results of any Axiom query. This release also adds support for moving users between servers, better control over the HTTP server, and various other minor feature enhancements and bugfixes.

The focus of this Mantissa release is support for
the Web: there are themes, conventions for
template lookup, support for Nevow LivePage, and a
framework into which Web interfaces to
applications can be dropped. A major feature is
the ability to deploy otherwise unrelated
applications into the same server, provide access
to them using the same user accounts, have them
cooperate to display elements of the page which
each require, and give the user an organized view
onto them.
