Application Version Management (avm) allows you to have multiple versions of the same application available on one system, or via NFS. It is mainly a bash/bourne shell function, which uses a centralised configuration file (avm.conf) to define the location of the app, and the default version (which can be overridden). The only restriction is that the directory scheme must follow the avm standard. Basic installation and usage documention is available.
